8-week Level II handbuilding

This class focuses on fundamental hand-building techniques including pinch, coil, extruder, and slab construction plus surface decoration and glazing.

This class DOES include Open Lab hours.

8-Week Level II Wheel

This class goes beyond the basics. Students will learn how to make more complex forms and techniques including: altered forms, lidded jars, and throwing off-the-hump. Have more consistency and make sets. How to apply decorating techniques like waxes and sgraffito.

This class DOES include Open Lab hours.

8-WEEK LEVEL II WHEEL - STERLING CIRCLE

All pieces will be fired in our electric kilns to Cone 6 Oxidation.

This class takes place at the new Studio Arts Boulder Membership space at 3063 Sterling Circle, Boulder, CO. You will also not have access to the Pottery Lab.

PLEASE NOTE: This class runs for 3.5 hours, which includes 1 hour of work time at the end of each class period.

8-Week Level II Wheel - Bourry Box Wood fire

This class goes beyond the basics and explores more complex wheel-thrown forms and surface decorations that emphasize the unique qualities of a Bourry Box wood-firing. As the wood burns, the ash travels throughout the kiln leaving a subtle yet distinctive trace on the pots therein.

Participation in the loading and firing of the Bourry Box wood fire kiln is a required component of the class. The firing will take place on June 22 - 23.

This class DOES include Open Lab hours.
