What skill level am I?
Adult classes are designed to meet the needs of students in each skill level. Please take a moment to select the class that best describes your experience and interests. Then, click through to see the programs offered especially for you!
Level I
I have no clay experience. I have taken a few classes, but it was years ago. I have little understanding of the difference between hand-building techniques. I would like to get better at throwing fundamentals and successful glazing.
Level II
I’ve taken several clay classes and am comfortable making basic forms like mugs and bowls. I can throw a 6-inch cylinder from 1 lb. of clay. I know the main clay vocabulary. I would like to learn a wider variety of forms, how to alter forms, and more decorating options.
Level III
I have been taking classes for several years. I can consistently make many different forms. I would like to experiment more and develop my own style. I would like to make bigger pieces. I would like to learn more about glazes and firing techniques.
Level IV
I’ve been actively working with clay for several years. I have my own studio and fire my own work. I want to learn special techniques and advanced skills. I would like to have my own ceramics business.
